Since China officially
implemented the practice of ¡®golden-week leave¡¯ in May 2000,
the number of people going on a tour during the ¡®golden week¡¯
has been unprecedentedly increasing. The ¡®golden week¡¯ has
stimulated the demands, invigorated the market, increased
jobs and prospered the economy. In April 2004, Shanghai Municipal
People¡¯s Government and Shanghai Municipal Tourism Administrative
Commission decided to change the name of the Municipal Holiday
Work Coordination & Guidance Team into the Municipal Holiday
Tourism Work Joint Committee. We should consolidate the achievements
obtained in the guidance and coordination of holiday tourism
work during the past ¡®golden weeks¡¯, and based on that, further
perfect our functions, integrate the strengths of relevant
districts and departments, and give fuller expression to the
role of the Joint Committee in effectively promoting holiday
tourism. |
